Armand GuzziOn Thursday Night December 17th, 2009 F/F Armand F. Guzzi Jr. was presented the John F. Kiely "Golden Helmet Award" for outstanding F/F in the Training Division. It was presented by Ex-Chief Jack Kiely because the award is named in his Dads honor. The award  was first started in 1976 by the Training Divisions first Director, Armand Guzzi (Young Armand #153's Dad) who had a long history in the fire service starting out in the U.S. Air Force and then in the FDNY, where he remained until layoffs in the 1970's. He then went to Fort Monmouth Fire Department where he reached the rank of Chief of Department. Chief Armand developed and coordinated the Long Branch Training Division for many years, until his untimely death. He is always missed. It was a fitting honor for Armand to receive the award his Dad helped create and develop. Members of Local #68 are proud of Armand's accomplishments and wish him a  safe and lengthy career.
