Response zone 3 is comprised of the Elberon section of the City of Long Branch. This zone stretches the length of beachfront to the east from Takanassee Lake to the north, the Deal border to the south, and westward to the West Long Branch Border. The first arriving fire apparatus for zone 3 is Engine 9.  The Elberon section of Long Branch is an upscale residential community featuring multi million dollar homes and many houses of worship covering many religions. It also has small business districts that includes an active train station with a busy park and ride service, a library, the Elberon elementary school and Ilan High School. With some of the most spacious residential homes in Monmouth County and hundreds of millions of dollars in ratables, Elberon the bedroom community of Long Branch continues as it was 100 years ago. Engine 9 also provides water rescue for all of the connected waterways of Takanassee Lake and the Atlantic Ocean. The coverage provided by the 2 firefighter assigned to Engine 9 is critical in providing instantaneous response and life safety and gives all responding firefighters an immediate, safe, and accountable fire ground operation
