Motor Vehicle Accident - July 19, 2011

One vehicle overturned and two people were sent to the hospital Tuesday night following a two-vehicle crash in Elberon, police said. The names of the drivers - both from Elberon - were not available from police, authorities said.

A car driven by a 23-year-old woman collided with a Range Rover driven east on South Lincoln Avenue by a 34-year-old man, according to Lt. Frank Morey of the local police department. Morey said the woman was attempting to drive away from the Elberon Train station parking lot and collided with the Range Rover, causing it to overturn. He said the woman suffered a cut on her head and the man was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Both were taken to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.

The woman was issued a summons for failure to yield, he said. The crash is being investigated by Officer Tracey Barret
