President's Greeting

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for visiting our new and improved web site.  This web site offers a glimpse into the everyday activities of your Uniformed Fire Division.  The membership is dedicated to protecting the citizens of Long Branch as well as the thousands of visitors to this City each year.  We are strategically stationed in two of the busiest firehouses in the City providing a rapid response of less than four minutes to any section of the City. 

The Uniformed Fire Division strives to be a vital part of this great City.  In 2002 we established the Uniformed Firefighters Community Trust Fund in order to give back to the community we protect.  Since its inception, we have donated thousands of dollars to various organizations throughout the City.  We provide two One Thousand Dollar Scholarship awards per year to Long Branch High School Seniors; run a local food drive during the holidays to replenish the food banks and to support our local churches.  Our members are also very active with today’s youth, whether it is mentoring, coaching sport teams such as soccer, baseball or wrestling, we uphold that role model of a firefighter. 

In 2008, the Uniformed Fire Division was redeployed to two of the busiest firehouses in the City.  We consolidated from one member being stationed alone at 5 separate fire houses to being grouped together at the West End Firehouse and at Fire Headquarters in the downtown section of the City.  This move orchestrated by the City, the Fire Chiefs, and the Uniformed Fire Division enhances the fireground efficiency of the Department, while at the same time increasing the fireground safety for our members.  

You may have seen Fire apparatus throughout various areas of the City.  These members are performing pre-fire planning at many commercial and occupied multiple dwellings throughout our City.  The information gathered is uploaded into our computer system to provide vital information to responding units in the event of an emergency.

Our website also provides public fire education facts to better prepare and protect you and your family from the ravages of fire.  We have also provided a list of sponsors that have supported us through the years and contributed to our Community Trust Fund. If you live in the City or our just visiting, stop by one of these establishments to show your support, for it is these establishments that make Long Branch a great place to live, work, and visit.
